Meet your guide in the morning at the Vienna West Train Station and head out for your destination, a cozy circular hiking trail in the Wachau Valley. With the famous village of Spitz as the starting point, the path leads through magnificent vineyards and idyllic forested landscapes to the nature reserve and summit of the Buchenberg, where you'll find a species-rich meager meadow with many precious flowers.
The descent over the 'Blue Cross' takes you to the legendary 'Red Gate', where you can end your 2-hour hiking experience on a bankerl (bench) with a magnificent view of Spitz, the stepped landscape of Tausendeimerberg, and the Danube river.
This is an easy route but it is still a hike with a difference in height of 500 meters!
