Enjoy a day away from the hustle and bustle of the city
Get picked up from your centrally located Todos Santos hotel at 9am, and enjoy a beautiful 75-minute drive through the mountains towards the working ranch of Doña Ramona and her family. Pass through huge, dry arroyos and cactus forests as you drive on quiet desert roads. Smell the aromas of your traditional lunch cooking when you arrive at the ranch, then sit down with Doña Ramona for a group pottery class. Listen to stories of her life in the mountains as you learn tips for working with the local clay. Once you’ve created your own Baja California pottery masterpiece, head into the kitchen with your group to learn how to make tortillas in the traditional Mexican way. Sit down to enjoy the fruits of your labor with several "ranchero" dishes, made with fresh local ingredients. After lunch, take a tour of Doña Ramona’s ranch. Group size is limited to 10 people for a personal experience. Check out her pottery kiln and the little chapel for the priest that visits the village twice a month. Time and interest permitting, you may wind up the trip by visiting some of Doña Ramona’s neighbors before driving back to Todos Santos. The tour concludes back at your Todos Santos hotel between 2pm–3pm. Please Note: A vegetarian meal option is available, please make a note in the Special Requirements field when booking.
