Then drive through rolling rural countryside to the ‘Shire’ where your tour of the Hobbiton movie set begins
Lunch at your own expense at the ‘Shire’s Rest’ or earlier at Te Puia depending on timings
Spend 2 hours having a fully guided tour of Hobbiton as you walk through the movie set. See the famous ‘Party Tree’, Bag End and take ‘selfies’ in front of, and in, Hobbit holes.
Finish the tour with a complimentary ‘ale’ or ginger beer at the Green Dragon Inn
Then you have a short 45minute drive back to your ship over the Kaimai ranges (AKA Misty Mountains) stopping at the top to enjoy spectacular views, and on a clear day, distant views of ‘Mt Doom’ from Lord of the Rings
