Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival - Transfer to Tamarindo

Stop At: Tamarindo Beach, Tamarindo, Province of Guanacaste
Welcome to Costa Rica! Land at the Liberia International Airport (LIR) where a shuttle will be waiting with your name on a card to take you to the Wyndham Tamarindo in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, just an hour from the LIR Airport.

Day 2: ATV Tour in Tamarindo

Stop At: Playa Conchal, Playa Conchal, Province of Guanacaste
You will drive through the beautiful tropical forest surrounding Tamarindo where you will most likely see monkeys, iguanas and birds hanging out in the trees! After riding through the back trails with stunning views of Tamarindo Bay, you will continue to drive off road trails to Playa Conchal. Here you will park your ATVs right on the beach and put on your snorkel gear. If you have never snorkeled before, the guide will help you put on the gear and show you how to use it. It’s easy! You will swim along the reef in pristine crystal blue waters of Playa Conchal viewing a variety of tropical fish, with the opportunity to see eels, octopus, and more! After about 30-45 minutes of snorkeling, you will get back on your ATV and drive through more back trails to Tamarindo.

Day 3: Guachipelin Full Day Volcano Adventure Combo

Stop At: Rincon de La Vieja National Park, Province of Guanacaste
Ziplining
First you will get strapped in your harness and start the ziplining course through the canopy and canyons! The course takes you into a steep canyon over a turbulent river, where you will zipline, rappel and rock climb, cross hanging bridges and ride Tarzan swings. You will go down 8 zip line cables, 18 platforms, a climbing wall, a hanging bridge, “via ferrata” (cable) rappel, and a tarzan swing!
Horseback Riding
After ziplining, you will return to the tour base to prepare for a 45-minute horseback ride through the forest viewing the local flora and fauna of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano
River Tubing
You will arrive on horseback to the changing rooms to get ready for your river tubing adventure. There will be a short briefing about safety on the river. Then it’s just a short walk to the foot of the Victoria Waterfall where the tubing adventure begins. You will have the time of your life bouncing down Rio Negro’s crystal clear and fun rapids in your individual rafting “tube” for over 5 kilometers. The guides will be riding down with you to ensure your safety.
Buffet Lunch
You will then be driven back to have a plentiful full buffet lunch. There are plenty of options for dietary restrictions such as vegetarians, gluten free, and vegan. Includes a salad bar, many choices of entrees and sides, dessert bar, fresh juice, coffee and tee.
Hot Springs & Volcanic Mud Bath
After lunch you will driven to the Hot Springs. Surrounded by tropical dry forest, the Río Negro (Black River) Hot Springs feature ten pools with thermal waters heated naturally by the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano.The soothing mineral waters are crystal clear and all natural, and the river flows through the pools constantly refilling them with water. Relax and enjoy luxuriating in our healing waters. You can also try our volcanic mud “bath”, where you smooth volcanic clay mud all over yourself like a spa “masque,” then after it dries, wash it off with a cool river water shower. The hot springs water will feel great afterwards!

Day 5: Transfer to Arenal & Arenal Volcano Hot Springs

Stop At: Los Lagos Hot Springs, La Fortuna de San Carlos, Arenal Volcano National Park, Province of Alajuela

Day 6: Waterfall Rappeling & Transfer to Monteverde

Stop At: Arenal Volcano (Volcan Arenal), Arenal Volcano National Park, Province of Alajuela
You'll rappel down huge waterfalls, jump into pools, zip down guided rappels, downclimb the canyon walls and river boulders, and hike up through the rainforest. We pack all kinds of adventure into the best canyoning experience in Costa Rica!
Lost Canyon Ops Center: After a fun, 15-minute ride in your Jungle Limo, you'll arrive at the Lost Canyon Ops Center. Is canyoning safe in Costa Rica? Your professional Desafio adventure guides will fit you with high-quality canyoneering gear and give you a safety talk and canyoning demonstration before beginning your adventure.
Baby steps: Start off the rappelling-leg of your canyoning journey with the first waterfall referred to as the "Baby," a small-sized 10-ft waterfall that allows you to ease your way into learning the ropes -- literally!
Just LET GO!: You’ll soon reach what we fondly call the “Big Boy," the second largest waterfall. About half-way through your rappel, you’ll hear the call to “LET GO!” – a few moments later you’ll experience your first guided, adrenaline-pumping canyon free fall! Heart racing and eyes sparkling, you'll continue your journey through the canyon as you build up to the largest Lost Canyon challenge: an exciting 200ft waterfall rappel.
Warrior Buffet: When you finish your tour, settle in for your best meal in Costa Rica at our famous WARRIOR BUFFET full of delicious, home-cooked food.

Day 7: Extreme Ziplining & Hanging Bridges

Stop At: Selvatura Park, Monteverde, Province of Puntarenas
Take a trip out the thick of the rainforest in Monteverde. Here you can zipline through the clouds on a course that is 2 miles long and includes a Tarzan swing. After this exhilarating experience and a hearty lunch, take your time and walk through the clouds on the notorious hanging bridges, walking on eight different bridges with various lengths ranging between 150 feet up to 510 feet.
