Your guide shows you the best of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains and the Hunter Valley wine region as you travel in comfort by air-conditioned vehicle. With the flexibility of a small group, you can avoid the crowds at popular spots and go to places that many visitors never see.

Your tour includes two overnights in deluxe accommodations, two breakfasts, two lunches, morning tea on the second day, wine tastings and transportation. Have the choice to add on optional activities or explore on your own during your free time each day.

Day 1: Sydney – Blue Mountains
Your tour starts with morning pickup at your hotel, then travels along a scenic route for about 45 minutes to reach Featherdale Wildlife Park. More than 2,000 critters live here, including Tasmanian devils, two wombat species, many colorful native birds and 30 different types of reptiles. You can even hand-feed friendly kangaroos and wallabies, and take your photo with the koalas (own expense).

After mingling with the wildlife, continue your drive to the picturesque Blue Mountains and stop at a lookout over the Jamison Valley. Get away from the crowds at this remote lookout point and enjoy great photo ops as your guide shares Aboriginal legends about the area. Next, drive to Eaglehawk Lookout to see the famous Three Sisters rock formations. From here, your guide takes you to your accommodation in Katoomba, where you have the rest of the day to explore and relax at your leisure.

Accommodation: Lilianfels Resort or Mountain Heritage in Katoomba

Day 2: Blue Mountains – Hunter Valley (B, L)
Following breakfast at your hotel, board your vehicle to travel to Govetts Leap, considered one of the best viewpoints in the park. Next, head to the Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens for a short guided walk through the gardens. Relax and enjoy expansive views as you snack on morning tea or coffee and refreshments (included). Then reboard your vehicle to continue through the mountain town of Bilpin and Wollemi National Park, renowned for its canyons, cliffs and pristine forest. During the drive, you'll travel along sections of the original Old Great North Road, built by convict laborers in the 1820s. Upon arrival in the Hunter Valley wine region, stop at a vineyard cafe for a delicious lunch accompanied by a glass of wine, followed by a visit to a boutique winery for tastings. Afterward, your guide takes you to your hotel in Pokolbin where you have the rest of your day at your leisure.

Accommodation: Chatea Elan at The Vintage Hunter Valley or Hunter Resort in Pokolbin

Day 3: Hunter Valley – Sydney (B, L)
In the morning, have free time to explore the area. You might want to visit more vineyards, check out the Hunter Valley Wine School, take a hot air balloon ride, or hop on a horse-drawn carriage (all at own expense). Around mid-day, your guide picks you up from your hotel to take you to a winery for a relaxing 2-course lunch. Choose from four main dish options accompanied by a glass of red or white wine (your choice), then finish off with dessert and a glass of dessert wine. After lunch, you have about an hour more to enjoy the area before departing in the mid-afternoon. You might learn more about wine production, join a wine tasting at a local tasting room (cellar door), try a cheese sampling, or purchase a craft beer tasting paddle. Your tour ends with hotel drop-off in Sydney in the late afternoon.
