Perfect introduction for first-time visitors

Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour by coach of the island and relax while watching the island highlights. Stop and enjoy free time for lunch before a visit to the La Mortella Botanic Garden visit (entrance ticket at own expense).
The gardens, called La Mortella, after the wild myrtle was found growing there, was been built by Sir William Walton ad his wife Lady Susana. Started in 1956, it was created on the site of a gigantic stone quarry, and designed by English landscape designer Russell Page. Extending over an area of 16,000 square meters, these beautifully landscaped gardens, complete with pools and fountains, have thousands of unusual and rare specimens of Mediterranean plants from around the world.
La Mortella is divided into two parts: a lower garden, called The Valley, and an upper garden on The Hill, terraced with retaining walls. Enjoy the gardens at your leisure (approximate 2.5-hours of free time) before heading back to board the return ferry to Sorrento at 5:20pm, the only return boat from Ischia. Return to Sorrento for an approximate 7:00pm arrival.
