Your day begins at 9am with a pickup from your Santiago accommodations. Greet your local guide and jump aboard the air-conditioned minivan.
Head first for Santiago's historic downtown and see the same places as the Spanish settlers did. when they founded the city in 1541. Explore the main square of the Plaza de Armas where Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is located, Santa Lucia Hill, the National Library, Central Market, and La Moneda Palace where you may be able to witness the changing of the guard (depending on the day).
Head next to the bohemian neighborhood of Barrio Bellavista, filled with restaurants and bars, as well as a zoo and the former home of the poet Pablo Neruda.
Next, see a 19th-century neighborhood, home to many mansions, many of which are now university buildings. If you like, you can also stop in at the Club Hípico race track; the financial district of 'Sanhattan', the shopping complex of Costanera Center, the upscale neighborhood of El Golf, and Bicentennial Park.
Your tour concludes with a drop-off back at your accommodations.
