After hotel pickup in San Salvador by s comfortable vehicle, enjoy a 90-minute drive into the Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountain range. Upon arrival at the zipline course in Apaneca — a village in the heart of El Salvador’s rainforest canopy — you'll receive a safety briefing and get fitted into equipment by on-site staff, then take a short uphill walk to the first platform.
Approximately 12 ziplines are organized in ascending order of length, reaching 6,500 feet in entirety through the forest. Start off swinging from tree to tree on shorter cables to get accustomed to sitting in your harness and using the brakes, and catch glimpses of toucans and squirrels as you make like Tarzan through the canopy cover.
The shorter ziplines done, fly across yawning valleys, spot eagles catching air, and admire views of a coffee plantation below. If you’re visiting in April or May, thousands of white coffee blooms blanket the fields; in January and February, the flowers are supplanted by shiny red berries. If you chose the upgrade to include a personal guide, you'll learn more cool facts about the local geology and cultural history in between zips.
After the final zipline, unwind your adrenaline-pumped body with provided refreshments. Your 5-hour tour ends with return to your hotel by a  vehicle unless you've selected the optional full-day tour (see Itinerary for more details).

Optional Flowers Route Tour
The Flowers Route, or Ruta de las Flores, refers to a cluster of five colonial-style mountainside villages located along a 22-mile (35-km) stretch of highway in the middle of El Salvador’s coffee plantations. After ziplining, spend the afternoon discovering three of these towns: Apaneca, Ataco and Ahuachapán.

On this tour with private transport, you choose how long to stay at each town and where to have lunch (own expense). Enhance this experience with an additional upgrade to include a personal guide, who accompanies you throughout the tour and provides engaging local insight and commentary.
Calm any post-zipline jitters with visions of art and fascinating antiques on your first stop in the heart of Apaneca. Amid a maze of cobblestoned streets, pass houses with orange-clay-shingled roofs and visit the market flooded with flowers and fresh produce. If you’re visiting during the winter, expect gusty winds that make for clear views of nearby volcanoes and mountains. And don't miss a taste of the top-quality locally made coffee, perhaps after lunch in one of Apaneca’s rustic restaurants.

Continue north to browse the handcraft shops in Ataco, and witness artisans producing patterned fabrics on treadle looms. In Ahuachapán, near the Guatemala border, you can decide whether or not the coffee sold here is the same or better than what you tried in Apaneca.

With a full-day zipline adventure plus tour of the Flowers Route complete, you’ll be privately chauffeured back to your San Salvador hotel.
