Perfect introduction for first-time visitors
Led by a local guide
Meet your expert guide upon pickup from your hotel in San Ignacio at about 9 a.m., and prepare for a fun Belize cave-tubing adventure. Upon arrival, receive a safety briefing and your cave-tubing equipment, including a hardhat with a headlamp. Then hike with your guide down a nature trail through the subtropical forest, learning about the lush flora — including medicinal plants once used by the Mayans. When you reach the entrance of the remarkable limestone caves nestled within the mountains, jump into the crystal-blue waters of a refreshing natural pool formed between two caves. Afterward, it's time to lie back in your tube, and relax as you enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Your cave-tubing journey takes you downstream through a series of caves, each filled with fascinating discoveries. Float through rapids, and view the sparkling, crystal-like cave formations as your guide explains cave geology and Mayan history. Your tubing adventure ends with return transport to your hotel in San Ignacio around 4 p.m.
