Enjoy one of the treasures of the San Diego area on this 3.5-hour, small-group tour. Meet your guide at 2:15pm at the Santa Fe Depot trolley stop in downtown San Diego. From there, you’ll stroll over to a nearby pier, where you can hop on a ferry to Coronado. The boat leaves promptly at 3pm, so don’t be late: as you journey across the waters of the scenic San Diego Bay, you’ll be rewarded with views of the skyline and the famous Coronado Bridge.
Once you arrive on Coronado, you’ll have the chance to drink in the destination’s relaxed pace and island lifestyle. Go for a leisurely, 20-minute stroll through its quaint streets, or hop on a bus: your first stop on the island will be Spreckels Park, famous for its lovely gazebo.
After you’ve enjoyed the fresh air, it’s time for a snack break or late lunch. Pick up a bite from a local restaurant — your guide can give you tips on what’s good, and food is purchased at your own expense — and enjoy a group picnic in the sun.
Then, you’ll make your way to Coronado’s beautiful beach, where you can admire views of the Pacific. From there, you’ll head to the Hotel del Coronado, a famously luxurious local landmark that’s hosted presidents, celebrities and other dignitaries over the course of its 128-year history.
The 3.5-hour tour ends at the hotel, after which you’re free to continue exploring on your own. Your guide will make suggestions on what else to see and do, give you tips on where to eat and shop, and let you know the times for the next shuttle, water taxi, or ferry.
