2-Night Christmas Package in Salzburg Including Christmas Markets and Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride

Set against the backdrop of the snowy Alpine slopes, the gorgeous city of Salzburg showcases the best of Christmas. During the Advent season, markets spring up on the medieval squares, the smell of punch and gingerbread wafts through the cold air, and lights twinkle around the picturesque Altstadt (Salzburg Old Town).
This independent package includes two nights of 4-star accommodation in a centrally located hotel, as well as a ride in a traditional horse-drawn carriage and a Christkindl-Pass voucher book, which entitles you to free food at Salzburg Christmas Market (Christkindlmarkt), as well as a chocolate bar, a hot drink, a decoration or ornament, a mug and a discount on a Christmas CD. The horse-drawn carriage ride is described on Day 2, but it can be taken on any day, depending on your preference. Just bring you voucher to Mozartplatz or Residenzplatz and step aboard the first available carriage.

Day 1: SalzburgCheck in to your centrally located hotel in early afternoon. Here, you’ll be given your voucher for your horse-drawn carriage ride and your Christkindl-Pass voucher book, which will entitle you to free snacks and discounts at the Salzburg Christmas Market (Christkindlmarkt). Spend the rest of your day exploring the city independently. Perhaps stroll around the historical Altstadt, admiring the grand buildings and pretty fountains, and maybe even stopping for a brandy-laced coffee or a stein of beer (own expense).
Overnight: 4-star Hotel NH Salzburg City, Hotel Am Mirabellplatz, Radisson Blu or similar
Day 2: Salzburg (B)After filling up on a buffet breakfast at your hotel, take your horse-drawn carriage ride, soaking up the sights of Altstadt as you trot along.
Afterward, perhaps head to Salzburg Christmas Market (Christkindlmarkt), which is located on central Domplatz and is overlooked by the green domes of Salzburg Cathedral (Dom).

Bring along your Christkindl-Pass and exchange your vouchers for snacks and other festive offerings. Using the vouchers, pick up a gourmet Christkindlmarkt chocolate bar, a hot punch and choose between several savory Austrian specialties including a bratwurst sausage and a schnitzel breadcake. You’ll also receive other Christmas mementos, such as a postcard and a Christmas mug, to take home.
Afterward, you might catch a bite to eat in a cozy Austrian tavern (own expense), before returning to your hotel.

Day 3: Salzburg (B)Check out of your hotel after breakfast. If you wish, the hotel can hold your luggage while you continue to explore Salzburg for the day.
