Meet your guide and the rest of your group near the Colosseum to start your tour.
Walk past the long lines and directly into the Colosseum with priority entrance tickets. Learn the history of the famous amphitheater from your guide as you walk around the arena. You will also climb to the near top of the Colosseum, from which point you’ll enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Rome.
Next, walk to the nearby Roman Forum for a guided tour of what was once the center of the Roman Empire. Learn about the myths, cults, temples, Christianization, Emperors, and slaves of Roman history. Head up to the Palatine Hill for some free time to explore on your own.
After this walk through ancient Rome, follow your guide into the rest of the city at dusk to see the monuments illuminated against the night sky. This second segment includes the Piazza Venezia, Capitoline Hill, the Roman Forum (from other, little-known vantage points), the Theatre of Marcellus, and the Jewish Quarter, as well as Largo Argentina (where Julius Caesar was killed), the Pantheon, the Field of Flowers (Campo de' Fiori), and the Baroque beauty of Piazza Navona. See beautiful squares and fountains, ancient temples, historic churches, and so much more.
