After boarding at the touristic area and downtown Rio de Janeiro we will go through the main attractions of the Historic Centre of Rio de Janeiro. As you walk our guide will detail information about the stunning architecture of the historic center of Rio de Janeiro, its history, culture and art.
Our first destination is the elegant Imperial Palace of Praça XV, first residence of the Portuguese Royal Family. Then we cross the Arco dos Teles, site of the performer residence Carmen Miranda and the crosspiece of the trade market. Then we will pass in front of the Centro Cultural dos Correios, Casa França Brasil, Centro Cultural do Brasil, the famous Candelária Church and the Mosteiro de São Bento (without internal visitation).
Our walk continues by Rio Branco Avenue and Colombo Bakery where you can enjoy delicious sweets and snacks. We will continue towards to the Cinelândia station, which has beautiful architectural relics of french influence and the Theatro Municipal (Opera House of the city of Rio de Janeiro), the Museum of fine arts, the National Library and the Palace Pedro Ernesto.
We finish our tour at the famous Arcos da Lapa and the historic Selaron Staircase, the masterpiece by Jorge Selarón who owns 250 steps, covered in over 2,000 tiles collected from more than 60 countries around the world. Are going to spend some time taking pictures and exploring lively squares, historic alleys, street artists, workshops and craft shops.
