Dressed for your 10-hour tour into Iceland's wild nature in warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear, get picked up near your Reykjavík hotel between 8:30 and 9am. Hop aboard the super jeep and get ready to head for an adventure into the Thórsmörk valley. Bring a packed lunch, or some money to purchase food along the way.
Head first for Seljalandsfoss waterfall, around 1.5 hours east. Marvel at the fall's 197-foot (60-meter) drop and get a unique perspective by walking into a small cave behind the falling waters. We will drive towards Gigjokull glacier, a glacier tongue stretching from the well known Eyjafjallajokull glacier, the volcano which erupted in 2010 wreaking havoc all over Europe.
Secure in the knowledge that the modified jeep you are traveling in is designed to handle the rough terrain as you traverse the valley floor, head into the heart of Thórsmörk. Traverse glacial streams and rivers and perhaps come to understand why this dramatic landscape takes its name from the Norse god of thunder.
Hear your guide tell stories about the region as you hike through the rugged valley. Marvel at the icy terrain of Gígjökull glacier, experience the thrill of wild Iceland, and enjoy a day spent truly off the beaten path.
Relax on the smooth ride back to Reykjavík after an adventurous day.
