Informative, friendly and professional guide
Begin your day at 7:10am when you meet your guide in the lobby of your centrally located Puno hotel. Drive to the port of Lake Titicaca and board a motorized boat to your first stop: the floating island of Uros. Spend time with local families living in small communities on these unique islands made of totora reeds. It's not just the islands that are made of reeds, the locals also create their houses, boats, and artwork from the giant bulrush sedge. Hear about the lifestyle of the residents and their history from your English-speaking guide.
After your tour of Uros, head to the island of Taquile and stretch your legs by strolling along a wide trail, taking in impressive views of the high-altitude lake. See some artwork being made, and take a lunch break in the home of a local family to enjoy some traditional dishes. Your group size is limited to 15 participants, so you'll have plenty of personal attention from your guide and hosts. After lunch, return back to the Port of Puno, arriving around 3:50pm. Climb in the waiting vehicle and say goodbye to your guide as you are dropped back off at your Puno hotel to conclude the tour.
