Showcasing more than 3,500 years of glassmaking history, the Corning Museum of Glass features nearly 50,000 pieces of classic and contemporary glass art and objects. With your 2-day admission ticket, you have plenty of time to explore the world's largest collection of glass and check out hands-on exhibits.
Visit galleries such as Early Northern European Glass, Asian Glass and Glass in America, and learn about the science of glass at interactive 'Do It!' stations inside the Glass Innovation Center. Head to the new Contemporary Art and Design wing to see the best of the last 25 years in glass, and stop by the Hot Glass Demo to watch live glassblowing narrated by a master glassmaker — you'll stare in amazement as each piece takes shape before your eyes.
If you feel inspired, you can try it for yourself at an optional glassmaking workshop (additional fee), where you can create your own artwork such as a fused picture frame, sandblasted drinking glass or delicate blown ornament. You can also search the gift shops for handmade glass treasures or grab a bite at the museum cafe.
Spend as much time as you'd like at the museum touring at your own pace, and return the next day if you didn't get enough!
