Day 1: Depart Melbourne Meet your guide at St Paul's Cathedral at 615am for a 6:30am departure, leaving Melbourne early to avoid the traffic and crowds. The Great Ocean Road is divided into three stages. On the first day, you will cover stage one, the Surf Coast. The first stop for morning tea on the Torquay foreshore.
After Torquay travel thorough Bells Beach to see kangaroos and enjoy some amazing ocean views and more surfers. We then travel Anglesea stopping at the new Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery, before heading to view the Split Point Lighthouse in Aireys Inlet. After the lighthouse it is your first chance to take a walk along the magnificent Fairhaven Beach situated at the Memorial Arch for some great photo opportunities. Then it is time for a walk down to the Erksine Falls, the largest falls in the region. After visiting the falls you'll head into Lorne for a lunch break. Browse in the local shops, take a walk on the beach and if the weather is good, there is time for a swim in the ocean.
After lunch (at own expense) take a walk to the second waterfall for the day. You'll then travel along the winding road, rounding right next to the ocean stopping at various ocean lookouts, before heading to Kennett River to look for wild koala and parrots. Continue to Apollo Bay, stopping at Mariner’s Lookout, before being dropped off for your overnight accommodation (at own expense).

At the 12 Apostles for an extra fee you can experience a discounted helicopter flight.
