Overview
Select the independent or guided option while booking, then make your way to Tizgui, a village that’s 1,300 feet (400 meters) from the entrance to the Todgha Gorge.
Get suited up with a climbing harness and safety equipment, get a briefing on Via Ferrata climbing techniques, then head into the gorge alone or with a climbing guide. Use your harness to clip in to a series of steel cables that keep you protected as you scale the red cliff walls, making use of metal rungs that are fixed into the stone.
This Via Ferrata is the first (and only) one in Morocco; the route is 410 feet (200 meters) high, and 656 feet (200 meters) long. When you reach the top, you’ll earn sweeping views of Todgha Gorge and the arid landscape of the surrounding High Atlas Mountains. For most climbers, scaling the Via Ferrata takes roughly 1.5 hours, and about 30 minutes to descend the route. This tour concludes back at the starting point in Tizgui.
