Meet Koji and Kaori at their home where you will be warmly welcomed into their spotless house, located a few minutes walk from the nearby subway station. After settling in, you will learn to make okonomiyaki, a fun dish to prepare with a group. Together you will mix a batter, chop the filling, and grill these tasty, savory pancakes. You'll eat the okonomiyaki and other dishes that were prepared in advance along with locally produced sake.
Your meal will include traditional dishes like okonomiyaki (a cabbage pancake filled with seafood and vegetables and topped with savory sauce and other condiments) and side dishes such as dashmaki tamago (rolled egg omelette) or yudofu (tofu hot pot), fresh salad and a bowl of miso soup. Enjoy your delicious meal while learning about centuries of Japanese culinary and cultural tradition from your hosts. Leave with a full stomach, new recipes, new friends, and unforgettable memories from an amazing experience.
Please note, this is not a professional cooking class, rather this experience is a visit into an authentic, local home to meet a local person and share the culture and cuisine together.
