Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger transfer and Kruger Park Night Safari (D)
Departure takes place from OR Tambo International airport in Johannesburg at the Shuttle/bus terminal with Citybug shuttle services for a 4 hour transfer to Nelspruit where you will join a private transfer to bring you directly to The Windmill Country Retreat, managed by Shinzelle Safaris, situated on the cusp of the Kruger Park where you will stay for your 3 nights on safari, our charming country cottages are ideally situated in the picturesque Sabie River Valley close to Hazyview.
After a welcome drink and check in we will depart for our night safari in the Kruger National Park, this safari takes you into Kruger after sunset when the nocturnal predators like lion and leopard are on the hunt, you'll be able to enjoy the nocturnal animals with spotlights in an open safari vehicle with a professional field guide before returning to the lodge to enjoy an authentic african inspired menu specially prepared by our local chef.

Day 2 & 3: Full Day Safari in the Kruger National Park (B,D)
Your Full day Kruger Park Safari experience begins in the early morning, your guide will collect you at the lodge for a short 25 - 30 min drive to the nearest Kruger Park entrance gate, here you will enter Kruger in search of all the iconic animal species, your guide will use expert knowledge of the area to interpret the natural environment for you in every detail.
Breakfast will be individually packed in breakfast packs prepared by our chef to be enjoyed at a restcamp when you stop for breakfast after your morning stretch, after breakfast head out to continue your safari, after ample game viewing time, you will stop for lunch, before you slowly make your way back to the gate, reaching the gate in the late afternoon giving you a full 8-9 hours on safari in the Kruger National Park. You will return to the lodge in the afternoon for relaxation, before dinner is expertly prepared and served at our restaurant.
Day 4: Morning Safari in Kruger and transfer back to Johannesburg (B)
On your final day, your guide will collect you at the lodge, heading for Kruger for a morning safari, this safari will also take place in the most animal rich area of the Kruger, giving you maximum exposure to the Kruger National Park over your 3 days on safari. (24 - 25 hours on safari)
Breakfast will be prepared and packaged by our chef to be enjoyed during your morning safari in the Kruger. Your guide will stop at a restcamp for you to take a break and enjoy your meal before you continue on your safari. After your morning safari at 12:00pm a private transfer will collect you from the lodge and take you to Nelspruit, where Citybug shuttle services will take you back to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
What to Wear:
The Kruger National Park’s climate remains quite warm and hot in the summer months (Nov – February) and fairly consistent through-out the year with temperatures only dropping in the early morning and late evenings, especially in the winter months (June – August). We suggest you pack light colored clothing, avoid white as it will show dirt faster, fabrics like cotton is preferable in the heat. We suggest you pack:3-4 Cotton t-shirts / blouses, 3-4 Shorts (try to avoid denim and nylon), Long sleeve shirt and trousers, Lightweight wind breaker waterproof jacket, Fleece jacket or jersey, A good pair of hiking shoes (especially of you plan to do bush walks), A good hat / cap & Sunglasses, Swimming attire & Towel, Open sandals / shoes (preferably with rubber soles for walking in camp) and 1 set of smart clothes ( in the event you want to attend a dinner or event)
What to Bring:
This trip is all inclusive. We do suggest you bring appropriate clothing to fit the season (please see what should I wear for details) A good novel is a must as you do have free time as well as the items listed below:Camera (charger, batteries, memory cards), Binoculars (with bag for dust protection), Lightweight Flashlight / Torch (LED is best), Mosquito and Insect Repellent, Sunscreen (we recommend SPF 30+ as the African sun burns) and Day backpack (to carry snacks, water, books etc.)
