Overview
The PADI Open Water Course in Kota Kinabalu diving on the islands in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park which consist of Gaya, Sapi, Manukan, Mamutik and Sulug. This will enables you to, dive to a depth no greater than 60 ft (18m) independently with a certified buddy that has the equivalent or higher level certification while applying the knowledge and skills that you learned during the PADI Diving course. You will be able to plan your dive and dive your plan, log open water no stop (no decompression) dives and discover the underwater world and forever blow bubbles in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park by continuing on and taking the PADI advanced diver course package or taking the daily fun diving package in Kota Kinabalu. In the confined water dives you will apply dive principles, learn and practice Dive Safety procedures and skills. You’ll do this in confined water in a controlled environment inside the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. Knowledge development gives you the information that you’ll need to complete your open water final exam. You will complete knowledge reviews, diver quizzes, and learn how to calculate your scuba dives by using the recreational dive planner. In the open water dives, you will apply what you have learned during confined open water and knowledge development and discover the underwater world at its best. You will complete four open water dives. This certification shows that you successfully completed the course according to the WRSTC (World Recreational Scuba Training Council), and dive centers or resorts would require this as a proof of certification. Our PADI diving instructors teach in small groups (4:1) in Kota Kinabalu's marine park. Pre Requisites • PADI Open Water Divers need to be physically fit • Complete a diver medical • Sign all liability release forms • Complete a 200 meter swimming test • A 10 minute survival float • Minimum age is to join is 10 years old The three day itinerary as below Day 1: 8.30am – Meet at Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal (KK Jetty) 8.40am – Boat departs for Sapi Island 9am – Start confined water dive 1 and complete open water dive 1 11.30pm – Lunch 12.30pm – Depart back to KK and walk to Diverse Borneo office 1pm – Watch open water DVD for 4 - 5 hours Day 2: 8.30am – Meet at Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal (KK Jetty) 8.40am – Boat departs for Gaya/Sapi Island 9am – Start confined water dive 2 – 5 and complete mini dive 12.30pm – Lunch and complete quizzes 2.30pm – Open water dive 2 4pm – Finish Day 3: 8.30am – Meet at Jesselton Point Ferry (KK Jetty) 8.40am – Boat departs for Sulug and Mamutik Islands 9am – Open water dive 3 11am – Open water dive 4 12pm – Lunch 1.00pm – Final exam 2.30pm – Fun dive

Diving within 24 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor
