You will be picked up at either 8 am, or 1 pm from your hotel and head to Bach Dang Pier (Central Saigon Pier), where you will embark on a one-hour speed boat ride along the Saigon River. Enjoy fresh air, gentle breeze and beautiful scenic landscape; feel as if you went back in time while meandering through palm-lined banks.
Once in Cu Chi, and after a short introduction to the tunnel network, you will have a chance to crawl into a short section of the tunnels to feel the narrowness and heat inside. Documentaries and displays of bloody traps will give you a vivid idea of the life and struggle in the tunnels during the war time.
The more adventurous may explore the deeper second, and even third level tunnels. For those preferring to remain above ground, there is ample opportunity to view excavated areas from above. Your guide will advise you of the length and level of difficulty of each tunnel before entering - some are easily accessed by stairs. We recommend good walking shoes and sun protection for this tour and advise you may get a little dirty!
The tour at Cu Chi with a guide is done at your pace and generally takes about an hour or an hour and a half. The boat will take you back to Ho Chi Minh City by boat again arriving around 1 pm. From there, you are transferred back to your hotel by the shuttle van or you may wish to be free for further wandering around the downtown.
