Overview
Your tour orientation starts at around 8am and your group departs at 8:30am from Heenatigala Road in Unawatuna. You start your journey along the main roads through a small local village. You will experience the local biodiversity in Sri Lanka- working tea plantation, tropical palms, ferns and lots of coconut trees. Throughout this journey, you will pass through lush green paddy fields, a very common sight for day to day life in south Sri Lanka. A short journey on the main road and a stop for a refreshing king coconut winds down your tour before your visit to the local village. You will leave your mountain bikes at a local house, put on your leech socks and get ready for your 15-minute walk to the river. At the river, enjoy a dip in fresh water fed from the Hayare Rainforest. After your quick bath, return to the village for lunch at a local house. Dry off from your time in the water before getting back on your bike to ride back to your departure point (around 17km).
