Tuscany has been enchanting visitors for years with its sublime countryside, exquisite hilltop towns and fine wines.
Enjoy a full day (6.5 hours) exploring the villages of the famous Chianti region of Tuscany.
You’ll meet your English-speaking driver in the center of Florence and depart to enjoy the beauty of the Chianti scenery. You’ll reach this world-renowned countryside via the Chiantigiana road that winds through this lovely landscape characterized by vineyards, cypress trees and golden hilltop villages.
You’ll make your first stop in a small wine estate which produces eco-friendly Chianti wines and Super Tuscans. Here, you’ll have a visit to the cellars, followed by a tasting of 3 wines along with the estate’s own biological extra virgin olive oil. The wines to be tasted vary according to availability and the season.
After this delightful interlude, you’ll continue your trip through the Chianti area, making stops for photos in the quaint villages of Montefioralle and Badia a Passignano where your driver will give you some information about each of these historic villages.
The next stop is the medieval town of San Gimignano in the heart of Tuscany, which is famous for its 13 towers that define its skyline. Here you’ll have 40 minutes to explore this intriguing town on your own before we make our way to a nearby farm, just a short driving distance from the historic center of San Gimignano, that dates back to the middle ages as evidenced by the ancient watchtower which forms the nucleus of the farmhouse.
Here, in this quiet corner, surrounded by the unique panorama of San Gimignano’s towers and the Tuscan countryside, you’ll enjoy a rest and light lunch while taking in the beautiful views. You’ll have the opportunity to taste the farm’s own biological products and Tuscan specialties. You’ll also be able to taste and sample high quality products which we’ve carefully selected from some of the local producers.
At the end of this genial experience, you’ll head back to Florence where you’ll be dropped at the drop off point of the tour.
