You'll start the day in Santa Maria Novella Rail Station, Platform 16 in front of Reale Bar, at the heart of Florence, at 7am.
Board your comfortable, air-conditioned coach, and relax for the 2.5-hour drive to Manarola, the first of the dazzling villages that make up Cinque Terre. Leave the coach here and explore the narrow alleys, teetering houses, and breathtaking cliffside paths on foot with your guide.
From Manarola, it's just two minutes by the scenic little train to the next village, Riomaggiore, with its historic port still lined with pretty fishing boats.
Catch the boat to your next stop, Monterosso, which many consider “the pearl of the Cinque Terre”. Enjoy the enchanting beaches and lush vegetation around this unspoiled village. You'll have free time here to swim, sunbathe, and perhaps enjoy a seafood lunch at one of the many pretty restaurants (own expense).
It's another three minutes by the adorable Cinque Terre train to Vernazza, where you'll admire the intricate layout of this village with its narrow lanes and vertiginous stairs.
From here, it's under ten minutes by train to La Spezia, where the bus awaits. It takes a little under two hours to drive back to Florence: you'll return in your starts location.
