Depart early in the afternoon from Central Florence and take this tour to discover the beauty of Siena and the unique scenery of Chianti hills. First you'll visit a winery in the middle of Chianti area, where the host will show you the cellars and explaint he main steps of Chianti wine production. Then, enjoy a wine tasting with sample of typical local products such as extravirgin olive oil, cheese and salami.
Afterwords your tour will continue with the visit of the ancient castle of Monteriggioni, a walled charming fortress that has the shape of a crown. That's because in the past it was a defensive fortress built by the Senese during the war against the Florentine. It still maintain its characteristic and here you can make the most of your free time and you might take a walk on its walls, visit the small church or simply relax in the main cafe.
Then, you'll head to Siena where you'll have a guided walking tour lead by a local licensed guide and you'll get the chance to see the main and most beautiful places in Siena. Starting with Tolomei Square, Salimbeni square you'll reach the famous Piazza del Campo where the Palio horse race is held twice a year and you'll finish with the Cathedral square - a real jewel. Then the tour end with a typical dinner in Chianti hills, so after your visit to Siena we'll escort you to Castellina in Chianti where you'll visit a beautiful winery and you'll enjoy a dinner made with fresh and typical Tuscan products. After dinner, enjoy a pleasant ride back to Florence where the tour will end.
