Spend 2 days getting to know Jerusalem and its religious and cultural heritage, and exploring the archaeological site of ancient Petra. Reminders of Jerusalem’s 3 faiths are never far away. The city is home to 1,200 synagogues, over 150 churches that represent 17 denominations, and more than 70 mosques.
The ancient city of Petra was built on the ancient trade route linking Arabia, Egypt, and the Mediterranean Sea. As a center for trade, it became a wealthy and powerful place, bustling with life, with ornate houses, lush gardens, and markets filled with exotic goods from India, Arabia, and Egypt.
Day 1: Depart at 21:00 from Dahab. Transfer to Taba. Drive through Arava Valley to the Dead Sea for a swim. Arrival in Jerusalem starts with the panoramic view from Mount Olives. Visit The Holy sites of the three monotheistic religions; Wailing Wall, Temple Dome of Rock, Arab Market (Souq) Dolorosa which leads to the Holy Sepulcher. Drive through the New City towards the Dead Sea and back to Eilat. Return to Aqaba border. Overnight in Eilat/Aqaba/Petra.
Day 2: After breakfast drive to Petra. Three hour guided tour. Visit Byzantine church, the Great Temple, the rock-carved Nabataean Temple, the Siq, and the Treasury. Lunch in Petra. Drive back to Aqaba to cross the border to Eilat. Transfer from Eilat back to Dahab. Return to Dahab at 22.00.

This tour includes several religious areas and it is therefore necessary for visitors to wear suitable clothing which covers both knees and shoulders. This applies to both men and women.
During the Winter time (November to April) warm clothing will be required.
