7-Day Tour: Cusco, Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco and City Tour
You will be met at the airport by a representative and taken to your hotel in Cusco. After some rest, in the afternoon, you will have a guided tour of the city of Cusco and its surrounding historical Incas landmarks including Q’enko, Cusco Cathedral (Iglesia de Santo Domingo), Tambomachay and Sacsayhuaman. You will be taken back to your hotel late in the afternoon.

Day 2: Sacred Valley Experience (B, L)
From Cusco, we will depart to Sacred Valley. You will enjoy a scenic ride through the Andean landscape on your way there and also stop at Pisac, a small town rich with Incan architecture and culture. Be sure to stop by the artisan market to view and purchase unique souvenirs. Then, we will visit Ollantaytambo, a town and Incan archaeological site that once was the estate of Emperor Pachacutec. Finally, we'll have a tour of Chincher, an Andean textile village. After this, you will return to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 3: Machu Picchu (B, L)
On this day, you will tour Machu Picchu. Early in the morning, you will be transferred to board a train to Aguas Calientes. Once there, you will take a 25-minute bus ride to the world renowned Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. With a professional guide, you will tour this15th Century Inca site admiring captivating architecture, scenic views and stone structures that defy modern engineering. Your regional expert guide will give you a thorough history lesson of Machu Picchu focusing on major historic sites including the Sun Temple, Sun Stone and Room of the Three Windows. You will have once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunities to capture yourself in one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Then, you have free time to enjoy the natural hot springs of Aguas Calientes known for its healing powers. In the afternoon, a train will take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 4: Free Day in Cusco (B)
This day will be of rest and relaxation. Sleep in, go shopping or visit some of the local museums. You can do some of the optional outdoors activities such as horseback riding, hiking, biking, ATV trips, river rafting and more.

Day 5: Sun Road Tour to Puno (B, L)
Early in the morning you will start your journey to Puno. During the bus ride, you will visit Andahuaylillas, know as the Sistine Chapel of America. Then, you will take a tour of Raqchi, an archaeological site with public baths, a large aqua duct system and stone terraces. After this, enjoy a buffet style lunch in Sicuani Village. Finally, tour the Pukara archaeological site featuring a large pyramid and museum before ending your day at a hotel in Puno.

Day 6: Tour of Lake Titicaca (B,L)
You will start your full day tour of Lake Titicaca. First, we will visit the Uros Islands to experience the simple life of the local people. Then, we'll go to Taquile Island where you will get a rare glimpse into Peruvian indigenous culture. Lunch will be served in the town of Luquina and we'll take a boat back to Puno, where you can use the rest of the day to shop, tour or rest.

Day 7: Departure from Puno (B)
A representative will take you to the airport and assist you with with baggage and check-in to end a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Peru!
