3-Day Machu Picchu with Homestay

Day 1: Sacsayhuaman, Pisac and Homestay (L,D)
Morning departure for the Sacred Valley. Along the way we’ll stop at the stunning ruins of Sacsayhuaman, located above the city of Cusco. We tour the beautifully-carved stone ruins and enjoy panoramic views of the city before continuing on to the Sacred Valley. We continue to the town of Pisac, where we stop to tour Inca ruins overlooking the valley, then descend to the local market. Here you will have the option to browse the stalls and sample local foods, before breaking for a picnic lunch on the way to our homestay family’s village. Upon arrival, we’ll meet family members, then have time settled before dinner. Overnight in a comfortable, private room on your family’s property.
Day 2: Perollniyoc to Aguas Calientes (B,L)
After an early breakfast, we depart on our hike toward beautiful Perollniyoc waterfall. We’ll pass along agricultural fields, locals leading sheep and cows to pasture, and small traditional homes along the way, arriving at the falls in about two hours. We’ll pause for a rest near the base of Perollniyoc, then climb to hidden Inca ruins directly above. After a brief tour of the ruins we begin our return to Sonqo, for travel to Ollantaytambo. If we have time, we’ll tour this pretty town before boarding our train to Aguas Calientes. You will have your evening free to rest up for Machu Picchu the following morning.
Day 3: Machu Picchu-Cusco (B)
After an early breakfast, we will take a short bus ride (20 min.) to the astounding Machu Picchu archaeological complex. After an approximately 2.5 hour tour of the ruins with your guide, you will be free to explore on your own. Other interesting and less visited sites at Machu Picchu include Inti Punku (the Sun Gate) and the Inca Bridge. In the late afternoon, board your return train. You will be met at the station by our driver and transferred to your Cusco hotel for a good night`s rest.
