Your adventure begins from the base camp in the town of Maras, about 40 minutes from the meeting point in the center of Cusco. This tour visits two of the most iconic Sacred Valley. You will have enough time to explore the highlights during this tour.
Your first stop are the Salt Mines, home to salt evaporation ponds that have been in use since Inca times. The salt water flows from an underground stream and through a series of channels to the ponds. When the pond is filled, the water flow is stopped so it can evaporate in the sun, leaving behind the salt that is harvested by the local pond owner. The residents of Maras also sell their various types of salt.
Finally, it's on to the the mind-blowing archeological site of Moray. Home of Inca circular terraces, believed to be an agricultural experimental station. You will always be riding through dirt roads surrounded by fields, lakes and panoramic views of the nature.
