Chongqing, Southwest China, China
Meet your guide at Chongqing Airport, Chongqing Train Station, Chongqing downtown Hotel lobby or Yangtze River Cruise Port in Chongqing.
First visit the Chongqing Zoo, famous for the giant pandas who live happily there. The panda bear is native to this region. They mainly eat bamboo (over 90% of their diet is bamboo), and they are generally relatively lazy but still fun to watch and photograph. The zoo also houses other lovely animals, including elephants, zebras and giraffes.
Following your visit to the zoo, you will visit Ciqikou Village, also known as porcelain village. There are many shops lining the twelve flag stoned paved lanes that form the main routes. Tourists will find many outlets for craftwork, groceries, teashops and the like, as well as a horologist, photography supplies, drugstore and a tempting supply of roasted nuts and seeds which are popular in the region.
After your visit to Ciqikou, you will go to a local restaurant to experience a traditional hot pot dinner, the traditional food from this region. Hot pot involves sitting around a boiling pot of tasty broth and putting in lots of fresh vegetables and delicious meats to be cooked. Be careful, as it can be very spicy.
