Make your own way to the Araksa Tea Plantation, located about a 1-hour drive from Chiang Mai city. On arrival, you will be greeted by local staff members who explain the different processes and methods used to cultivate young tea plants.
Afterward, a resident tea harvester will lead you to the tea bushes and demonstrate how to successfully pluck tea leaves. Collect a bamboo basket for yourself and join in for a hands-on personal lesson to experience this traditional process. From the tea fields you will be guided to the tea roasting station. Here, watch a demo on the art of producing Assam tea by hand, from the kneading process all the way to roasting.
