Your day trip begins by meeting your guide at your location in the French Riviera and hopping aboard your private vehicle for the drive to the perfume capital of France. At the Fragonard Perfume Factory (Parfumerie Fragonard), learn about all the stages of perfume production, and check out the factory shop to purchase a new scent (own expense).
Afterward, continue your tour to Gourdon. Perched on a rock on the edge of the steep Caussols plateau, which rises 2,300 feet (700 meters) above the River Loup, this remote and picturesque village is home to a 12th-century castle built on the foundations of a Saracen fortress. Enjoy some free time to explore and visit silk, perfume, and glass-making workshops, old restored houses, or shops.
Then proceed with your journey among the hills and valleys, and stop at Pont du Loup, where you can visit a chocolate factory and taste one of the best chocolates in France before moving on to Tourrettes-sur-Loup, which was an important weaving town in the Middle Ages and after World War II became a center for hand-woven fabrics. Take a stroll through the old town with your guide, and visit several of the workshops along the winding streets that offer a range of cloth, from reproductions of old Provençal fabrics to colorful textiles for the high fashion market and furnishings to hand-woven ties.
Next, head to St. Paul de Vence, a village visible from afar among the hills and valleys of the Vence landscape. The village has retained its medieval appearance, characteristic of the fortified settlements that protected the Var frontier until 1870. Walk through the old town with your guide, who shares stories, and enjoy free time to visit the well-known modern art galleries; the village has long been home to various artists over the years, such as Marc Chagall.
Your day trip ends with return to Cannes for drop-off at your hotel.
