2- or 3-Night Independent Stay in Budapest with Budapest Card and Danube River Dinner Cruise

Your 2- or 3-night stay begins with a private transfer from the airport to your hotel, the Star City Budapest Hotel. This 3-star hotel in Pest offers excellent standards and amenities.
During your stay, you're free to spend your time as you want. Create your own itinerary and explore the main neighborhoods of Buda and Pest as you wish. Divided by the Danube River, both overflow with sights, from cobbled, historic Buda to the tree-lined boulevards of Pest.
Your package includes a Budapest Card, giving you free or discounted entry to several top attractions, including museums and galleries, as well as free use of public transport and discounts at select city restaurants and bars. Also included is a fabulous dinner cruise along the Danube River on the last night of your stay. Breakfasts are also included, but all other meals and drinks, plus any additional activities, are at your own expense. The activities mentioned in the Itinerary are simply suggestions and what you do on your trip is up to you!

Day 1: Budapest
Arrive at Budapest airport and enjoy a private transfer to your centrally located Budapest hotel. Check in and spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Perhaps stroll along the famous Chain Bridge to admire the neo-Gothic Hungarian Parliament Building overlooking the Danube River, or absorb the views of the cobbled Castle District of Buda.

In the evening, perhaps get your first taste of Budapest’s vibrant dining scene at one of its international restaurants or cozy taverns. Then, maybe relax in one of the lively bars with a pálinka — a schnapps made with fruit and honey. All food and drinks are at your own expense.

Day 2: Budapest (B)
After breakfast, spend the day getting to know Hungary’s intriguing capital. Collect your Budapest Card — it will be delivered to you at your hotel — and explore to your heart's content. Simply show your card to enjoy free or discounted entry to participating attractions, or use it to claim free public transport, walking tours or savings at selected restaurants.

Perhaps check out Budapest’s top attractions, such as the UNESCO-listed Castle District: the fortified area built in the 13th century to defend the city from Mongol marauders. Ride the funicular or climb up to Buda Castle, sometimes known as the Royal Palace, and meander around Castle Hill to see the medieval Vienna Gate and Fisherman’s Bastion. Your Budapest Card gives you discounted entry to beautiful Matthias Church, where many Hungarian kings were crowned, plus free entry to the Hungary National Gallery where you can see Hungarian paintings and sculptures dating back 500 years.

Later, perhaps wind down with some shopping or coffee in Pest, and finish with time at Heroes’ Square or Vajdahunyad Castle in leafy City Park.

If you’re on a 2-night break, enjoy your included dinner cruise in the evening. Board your boat and sail along the Danube River, passing famous sights such as Hungarian Parliament Building and Chain Bridge, all beautifully floodlit. Sip wine or Champagne and savor a hot buffet of typical Hungarian dishes as you enjoy the views, all serenaded by live music from members of the Hungária Folk Orchestra.

After breakfast, check out and enjoy a private transfer to Budapest airport for your flight departure (2-night stay only). If you have opted for a 3-night stay, spend another day exploring Budapest independently. Perhaps enjoy free entry to Lukács Thermal Bath with your Budapest Card or head to the St Stephen’s Basilica Observatory and Treasury for unparalleled views of the city.

End your final night in Budapest with your included dinner cruise on the Danube River.
