Overview
This tour combines a stroll through all 3 floor levels, guiding you through a Food Section, with some opportunities for tastings, and a Non-Food Section both of which embody the rich Hungarian heritage and culture that is expressed through foods and artifacts such as embroidery, porcelain, clothing and the arts & crafts. Taste a mouth-watering array of foods such as lángos, Hungarian stew, potato paprikash, chocolate, strudel and much more as you sample the gastronomic delights of Hungary during this 2-hour market and food tour with Agnes or Andrew at Budapest’s largest and oldest market steeped in atmosphere. Explore the specialty food stalls, see how the locals shop and sample Hungarian savory/sweet specialties. Along the way you will experience a unique slice of Budapest’s one-of-a-kind culinary culture. We offer a memorable travel experience with fantastic food and lots of Hungarian culture. We like to think of our Budapest market and tasting tour as a pleasant walk with local friends, that lets you taste delicious local foods and provide insight with lots of interesting local information. We start the tour early at 9:00 to avoid the crowds coming in later. We will meet you at the main entrance to the Central Market Hall. The price includes: • Great Market Hall – a 2 hour long guided culinary and cultural adventure • Multiple food tastings that definitely make for a full meal • Summary email with everything we tasted
