Accom: Casa Deco or similar DAY 2 (B): BOGOTA CITY TOUR Private city tour in Bogotá: La Candelaria (the historical center of Bogotá), museum of Gold (closed on Mondays), the museum of Botero (closed on Tuesdays), Monserrate by a cable car or a funicular. Acc: Casa Deco or similar DAY 3 (B): BOGOTA – ARMENIA Transfer to Bogota airport and flight to Armenia. Then transfer to Finca el Palmar. Acc: Finca del Palmar or similar DAY 4 (B): SALENTO – VALLE DE COCORA Private day trip to Salento and Valle de Cocora where the national trees of Colombia grow – wax palms that can reach up to 60 meters height. Acc: Finca del Palmar or similar DAY 5 (B): COFFEE TOUR Interactive coffee tour in Hacienda San Alberto. You will also pass by the lovely typical village of Buenavista. The rest of the day is free. Although it is a 5 h drive, you will be able to make some short stops on the way and enjoy the view to the mountains and to the coffee plantations. The rest of the day is free in Medellín. You will take the public transport – the symbol of the city of Medellín, visit the most important squares and learn about the extreme change of this city which went through from being one of most dangerous cities to becoming the most modern city of Latin America. Acc: Hotel Art or similar DAY 8 (B): MEDELLIN – TAYRONA PARK Transfer to the airport of Medellín. Flight to Santa Marta. Transfer to Tayrona National Park. Acc: Cabanas Arrecifes or similar DAY 9 (B): FREE DAY TAYRONA PARK Free day in Tayrona National Park. For the tough travelers we recommend hiking until the ruins of Publito. Acc: at Cabanas Arrecifes or similar DAY 10 (B): TAYRONA – CARTAGENA Arrival to Cartagena. 4 hour walk enjoying the old town of Cartagena and learning about its history and architecture. Itinerary
Day 1: Start of the Colombia highlights tour: Pick-up at Bogota airport and transfer to hotel in La Candelaria. Overnight in Hotel Casa Deco
Day 2 (B): Private city tour in Bogotá during which you will explore the narrow streets of La Candelaria (the historical center of Bogotá), visit the museum of Gold (closed on Mondays) and the museum of Botero (closed on Tuesdays). Also you will go up to the hill of Monserrate by a cable car or a funicular. All this tour will be accompanied by a local English speaking guide. Overnight in Hotel Casa Deco
Day 3 (B): Transfer to Bogota airport and flight to Armenia. At Armenia you will be picked up by our driver and transferred to Finca el Palmar Overnight in Finca el Palmar
Day 4 (B): Private day trip to Salento (a colorful town which maintained the typical architecture of the area) and Valle de Cocora where the national trees of Colombia grow – wax palms that can reach up to 60 meters height. You can take incredible hikes in the valley. Overnight in Finca el Palmar
Day 5 (B): Today you get interactive coffee tour in Hacienda San Alberto where you will see how the Colombian coffee is grown, which processes it goes through before it becomes a drink and will learn the secrets about its quality. You will also pass by the lovely typical village of Buenavista. The tour takes around 3 hours in total. The rest of the day is free. Overnight in Finca el Palmar
Day 6 (B): Private transport to Medellín. Although it is a 5h drive, you will be able to make some short stops on the way and enjoy the view to the mountains and to the coffee plantations. The rest of the day is free in Medellín. Overnight in Hotel Art
Day 7 (B): In the morning you will be picked up by a local guide and will depart together for a private city tour in Medellín. You will take the public transport – the symbol of the city of Medellín, visit the most important squares and learn about the extreme change that this city went through from being considered as the most dangerous city in the world to becoming the most modern city of Latin America. Day 8 (B): Transfer to the airport of Medellín (almost 1 h). Flight to Santa Marta. Transfer to Tayrona National Park (around 2 h drive from the airport). The driver will leave you as close as the cars are allowed to go. From the parking lot there is still around 40min walk to Cabañas Arrecifes (you can get a horse service for the luggage and for the people for approx. 6 EUR). Overnight in Cabañas Arrecifes
Day 9 (B): Free day in Tayrona National Park, where you can visit beautiful beaches or hike around. For the tough travelers we recommend hiking until the ruins of Publito. Overnight in Cabañas Arrecifes
Day 10 (B): Private transportation to your hotel in Cartagena. The driver will pick you up from the parking where he left you upon your arrival to Tayrona). It is around 5 h drive passing by Santa Marta, Cienaga and Barranquilla. Arrival to Cartagena, check in the hotel. You will then be met by an English speaking guide with whom you will have an approx. 4 h walk enjoying the old town of Cartagena and learning about its history as well as architecture. Day 11 (B): Free day in Cartagena (Optional: day trip to Rosario Islands). Overnight in Hotel Tres Banderas
Day 12: End of the Colombia highlights tour. Transfer out to the airport of Cartagena.

Tap water in Colombia might contain bacteria and should not be consumed, not even for brushing your teeth. Bottled or purified water is always recommended.
Inform yourself about food safety when traveling to tropical countries. Take the necessary precaution to avoid food poisoning (always wash your hands before eating, don’t eat ‘street food’, only eat peeled fruits, etc.).
