7-Night Bodrum Peninsula and Greek Islands Yacht Cruise from Bodrum

Aside from your first and last night in the glamorous town of Bodrum, the rest of your cruise is spent discovering the highlights of Turkey’s Bodrum Peninsula and the neighboring islands that belong to Greece, known as the Dodecanese Islands.
How you spend your time when your yacht is docked is up to you. Stops at the best bays for swimming are factored in to the route, and you’ll stay anchored each night in quiet Turkish fishing villages such as Bozburun or lively Greek islands like Rhodes and Kos. All meals are included on board your boat.

Day 1: Bodrum (D)
Board your boat at Bodrum Harbour, and then meet your host over a welcome cocktail in the on-board bar. Your first night is spent docked in Bodrum, so why not make the most of it and head out to explore independently? Famous for centuries for its spectacular white-marble Mausoleum, Bodrum is home to sights aplenty; the Castle of St Peters, English Tower and the Mausoleum are just a few of the attractions that can be seen. All entrance fees are at your own expense. Return to your boat in time for dinner, and spend the rest of your evening at leisure.

Day 2: Bodrum – Knidos – Inceburun – Kargi (B, L, D)
After breakfast, cruise to Knidos, a ruined Doric city that sprawls along the coast of the Datça Peninsula, and dock at the harbor to explore by foot. Stacked into the hillside overlooking the coast, the ancient ruins – such as a Hellenistic theater and 4th-century sundial – are incredible to see against the backdrop of the sea.

Savor lunch on board, and then cruise to the nearby cape of Inceburun, to swim in its turquoise-hued sea. Continue to Kargi bay, your base for the rest of the day and night, and soak up the last of the sun’s rays on the beach or visit a laid-back beachside bar for a drink (own expense). In the evening, enjoy dinner on the boat.

Day 3: Kargi – Dirsek Bükü – Kizil Ada – Bozburun (B, L, D)
Relax over breakfast as you cruise around the peninsula to Dirsek Bükü, an L-shaped bay tucked into the south coast. Gloriously isolated – the bay is unreachable by road – and sheltered from the wind, Dirsek Bükü is one of the most alluring places in the Aegean Sea for a swim. Jump into the crystal-clear water, and then return to your boat for lunch as you continue cruising.

Stop for a swim at the pretty island of Kizil Ada – a place that translates as ‘red island’ – and then carry on to the fishing town of Bozburun. Look out for the town’s famous gulets (traditional wooden sailing boats) bobbing around the harbor, and then set out to explore the small seaside town after docking. Return to your boat for dinner in the evening.

Day 4: Bozburun – Rhodes (B, L, D)
Leave the Turkish coast after breakfast and cruise south around the Datça Peninsula to the Greek island of Rhodes. After docking, enjoy a full day of free time to either explore independently or head out on one of two optional tours to Rhodes Old Town (Rhodes city) or Lindos (own expense).

If you opt to take the Rhodes Old Town tour, walk around the UNESCO-listed medieval neighborhood with a guide, admiring sights like the city walls, Porte d’Amboise – the Old Town gates and the Street of the Knights with its attention-grabbing buildings. Alternatively, travel to Lindos to explore the ancient Greek city and its acropolis.

Rhodes is lively compared to the peaceful villages dotted along the Bodrum Peninsula, so make the most of your evening by heading into town for dinner and drinks (own expense).

Day 5: Rhodes – Symi (B, L, D)
Enjoy breakfast as you cruise north from Rhodes to Symi, anchoring in the early afternoon at a bay near Symi Harbour for lunch and a swim. Continue around the island to dock at Symi Port and then set off independently to explore the island by foot.

Bask in the beauty of Gialos, the island’s main village, and admire its pretty Neo-Classical houses that face the port, or perhaps take a walk through the pine and oak forests. Besides its stunning scenery, Symi is also steeped in history, and there are countless old monuments that can be seen on walks; look out for sights like Lindos Ship War Memorial or Chatziagapitos House – an 18th-century mansion in the hillside village of Chorio. Return to your boat in the evening for dinner.

Day 6: Symi – Nisyros – Kos (B, L, D)
Early in the morning, cruise west to Nisyros – home to the one and only Greek volcano -- and enjoy a break to swim around the island’s shores. Dock at the port and either enjoy some more free time to sunbathe, or take a tour to the volcano’s crater (own expense), where gases can be seen rising from underground.

Return to your boat for lunch, say your goodbyes to Nisyros, and then cruise north to Kos – one of the most vibrant islands in the Dodecanese chain. After stopping for a quick swim at Lambi Beach, dock at Kos Harbour and enjoy a full afternoon and evening of free time. Besides the island’s caramel-sand beaches, which beg to be lounged on, Kos is famous for its nightlife. After dinner, head out to experience the hip Greek bars that line Kos town’s main street, or watch the sun go with a walk along the beach,.

Day 7: Kos – Black Island (Poyraz Harbour and Meteor Bay) – Bodrum (B, L, D)
Rise early and wave goodbye to the Greek Islands as you cruise around Turkey’s Datça Peninsula toward Bodrum. Mid-morning, stop for a swim on Kara Ada (Black Island) and ogle the fancy yachts and gulets bobbing around its beaches. Cruise around the island to Meteor Bay for lunch, and enjoy an optional walk to see Kara Ada’s underwater cave (own expense).

The island is a mere hop, skip and a jump away from Bodrum, so cruise to the town in the late afternoon and enjoy your final evening doing whatever you please after dinner.

Day 8: Bodrum (B)
Enjoy breakfast and then bid your group a fond farewell. You tour finishes in the morning, when you leave the boat.
