This Berlin city walking tour of the Scheunenviertel is a trip through the old Berlin. Meet your guide at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz and learn about the barns development, the Jewish population and political stories. You will also see the KPD headquarters and the the political theater Volksbühne as well as the famous Babylon cinema.
Visit Berlin's small alleys afterwards and listen to stories from the past about this area. Afterwards you will visit the Hackeschen Höfe where you will be able to take a look at the different yards with your guide as well as the architectural situation during the times of the GDR (DDR).
Next is Clärchens Ballhaus, a ballroom building that will show you the Berlin of the 20ies. It also is a great recommendation in case you don't have evening plans yet -- Berliners still come here to dance to live music on the weekends.
Your last stop will be the old Jewish orphanage "Ahawah" and the Heckmannhöfe. Your tour will end at the Neue Synagoge.
