Choose from a selection of start times, and then meet your guide in central Barcelona. Put on your helmet, and enjoy a training session to get familiar with your two-wheeled Segway. Once you feel at ease, follow your guide and glide through the city on one of two routes:
2-Hour Tour: The Barcelona Segway Tour takes you to Barcelona’s most beautiful waterfront spots - the historical marina Port Vell, the city’s most popular beach La Barceloneta and the sports marina Port Olímpic, as well as to the Parc de la Ciutadella. This city sightseeing tour starts with a visit to Barcelona's biggest urban park. After exploring the Parc de la Ciutadella, the next stops are the Port Olímpic and the Port Vell, Barcelona's oldest marina, with hundreds of beautiful small vessels and a picturesque port avenue lined with palm trees.
The Barcelona Waterfront Segway Tour includes some of Barcelona's most beautiful places, little of which are visited during traditional sightseeing trips like city tours by bus. It offers a comprehensive overview of Barcelona's maritime history, the ongoing transformation of the city's waterfront and the role that the mediterranean sea plays in Barcelona's local culture. 3-Hour Tour: The Montjuic Segway Tour will take you on a journey through Barcelona's history, which started at the green mountain located next to the city center, the Montjuich, more than 2000 years ago. The archeological remains of the settlement of the Laietani tribe, dated 300 BC, have been found at its foot, making it one of the primary founding communities in the region.
The Montjuic has been an epicentre of the cultural and political development of Barcelona and its previous communities. Rising 173 m over the mediterranean sea, its name is derived from the medieval Jewish cemetery located on its north-eastern side. The castle, which can also be reached by cable car and was constructed on the hilltop in 1751, served to defend the city, as well as to control its population.
The Montjuic's modern history is not any less interesting than its past. Some of the main sights of Barcelona are located on its hillsides, many of which will be visited during this "out" of the city tour. For example, some major sports facilities of the 1992 Olympic Games; the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, the Palau Sant Jordi and the Olympic Museum of Barcelona are located on the city's green hill. With the MNAC - Catalan National Art Museum and the Joan Miro Foundation, the area also has two of Barcelona's most important art museums among its many attractions.
2-Hour Tour: Your first stop is Barcelona’s Barri Gòtic, in the center of the old city. Home to a labyrinthine tangle of streets, the neighborhood contains some of the city’s most impressive 15th-century architecture. Admire stately buildings sitting cheek-by-jowl with sidewalk cafes, and then pass through Columbus Square to La Rambla. Stop for photos on the famous boulevard against a backdrop of colorful flower stands, and continue cruising to Barcelona’s old harbor at Port Vell. Glance at the yachts bobbing on the water and pass the glitzy Maremagnum leisure center and Palau del Mar hotel. Glide through the fishing district of La Barceloneta to see the main promenade stretching along Platja de la Barcelona, the city’s main beach. Toward the end of the beach lies Barcelona’s Olympic port, so follow your guide to it for a photo stop. Pass through Parc de la Barceloneta and enjoy a last stop by El Cap de Barcelona (the Head), a surrealist sculpture by American artist Roy Lichtenstein. Finally, return to the start point. 3-Hour Tour:After seeing all the sights taken in on the 2-hour route, continue with your guide from El Cap de Barcelona to the Arc de Triomf. Hear how the monument was built for the 1888 Barcelona World Fair, and has since become one of the city’s most distinctive landmarks. After a short stop by the monument, continue through Parc de la Ciutadella. Weave along the park’s pathways, enjoying the tranquil surrounds, and see the Cascada, a majestic-looking archway and water feature. Watch the water cascading down, and then pose for a photo by the Parliament of Catalonia, an imposing building nestled inside the park. Having enjoyed a full extra hour on your Segway, return to the start point where your tour finishes.
