Enjoy a day away from the hustle and bustle of the city
Meet up with a driver-guide in Barcelona and head approximately one hour north of the city to the small town of Girona. Passing stunning landscapes along the way, the guide will explain more about the history and traditions of the area.
After arriving in Girona, follow the guide on a tour of the city’s historic treasures. See the 12th-century Arabic baths, the stunning cathedral of Girona, and the Jewish museum, which reflects an important part of the town’s history. Wander through downtown (known as “el call jueu") and marvel at the Roman walls built during the medieval ages and still in place today. Don’t miss seeing the longest Carolingian walls in Europe, built here in the 9th century.
Spend some time exploring Girona independently and checking out any other local attractions you wish to see. Then head to the charming villages of Costa Brava, stopping in places like Pals or Peratallada. Take a short tour of these well-preserved medieval towns, then grab lunch (own expense) in the fishing villages of Llafranch, Tamariu or Calella. Walk along the water on the Camí de Ronda path, then hop back in the car and return to Barcelona.
