Bangkok is a big, bustling and often chaotic city. There are hundreds of temples to see, shopping malls to stroll through and bars where you can knock back beers with fellow travelers. But there’s a great way to see a different kind of Bangkok, the one that locals see. Make your way to central Bangkok and then hop on a bike for this 4-hour guided tour, covering about 10 miles (15 km), which takes intrepid travelers across the Thai capital. Start at Khao San Road and cycle along the Chao Phraya River, crossing the river at Rama 8 Bridge. Explore a Muslim neighborhood as the guide explains how diverse the city is. Cruise around the Bangkok Noi Canal before heading back across the river via ferry and riding through the backstreets of neighborhoods to witness how ordinary people live. Next, explore the main food market and learn about some unusual foods. Ride to the Giant Swing, a landmark that was once used regularly in an important Hindu ceremony. Afterward, head back to the meeting point and enjoy a beverage with your group, knowing you’ve seen a side of Bangkok that you might not have visited without the aid of your guide and a bicycle.
