Overview
Meet your guide during a morning pickup at your Amman hotel, then take a seat in your comfortable air-conditioned coach and travel into the Jordan Valley.
First, visit the location east of the Jordan River — recognized by the Vatican during a visit of John Paul II in 2000 — widely believed to be the official baptism site of Jesus Christ. During your tour, discover more than 20 Roman and Byzantine baptismal pools, caves and churches unearthed during excavations since 1996.
Continue on to the city of Al-Salt — the old capital of Jordan — and follow your guide on a walking tour of the Harmony Trail. Take in top attractions such as the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, Al-Ein Plaza, the English Evangelical Hospital Complex, the Great Mosque and the Al-Khader Orthodox Church.
Along the way, gain insight into Arabic culture and traditions, and see how the lives of Muslims and Christians here are intertwined. When your walking tour comes to an end, enjoy free time to explore further at your leisure. Then, return to your Amman hotel to conclude your tour.
